ninth.garden
During the spring and summer of 2026, second.garden connected two previously closed garden spaces at Frederiksberg Hospital and opened them to the public as a temporary recreational area in an early phase of the wider transformation of the hospital grounds. Materials already present on site were reused and rearranged in new constellations to create opportunities for staying, moving through, and using the place in new ways.
The garden functions both as a place for dwelling and as a small working landscape. Plants circulate through temporary beds and ongoing cultivation, while the garden is also available for recreational and rehabilitation activities in collaboration with Frederiksberg Health Center. The ninth garden is not conceived as a finished landscape, but as a place in continuous development, shaped by use, occupation, growth, and changing seasons.
The project was developed in collaboration with Frederiksberg Municipality and Frederiksberg Health Center, with support from the Frederiksberg Foundation.
